Dr Salvatore Pasta

Salvatore Pasta is a researcher collaborating with the Institute of Biosciences and Bioresources in Palermo (Sicily, Italy) and with the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). His main research interests are insular biogeography, forest and grassland ecology and dynamics, alien plant ecology and monitoring, vegetation history, plant and nature conservation (with special focus on the Mediterranean area). In the framework of the project Zelkova he is an expert and coordinator of the field work in the Mediterranean (Crete, Sicily and Aeolian Islands) and in Transcaucasia.
